I've got a built head and bottom end from VT Engines to start off. I'm planning a Star stage 2 with upgraded intercooler and BOV... I dont have a horsepower goal, but I want to go fucking crazy and boost to 25psi if I want to.

I've been searching a good part of the day and answered some of my own questions. First off, replacing the fuel rail with anything other than stock is a bad idea - obx and venom equal problems. But I would like a polished one, anyone know of where I can purchase one?
Second, what brand of a FPR does everyone recommend. I didnt see barly anything on that topic. I see a few different kinds on eBay...
What size injectors do you all recommend? I think I'll need something like 600cc or so. I know of the 8 injector setup, but my NX direct port is also tapped into the manifold behind the fuel rail, so there is no room.

I've been told that the T3/T4 will not fit on the 420A, why the hell not? I know some of you have it, someone PLEASE enlighten me.

I'm freaking out over this whole turbo thing! Someone PLEASE help me out here.

And oh yeah, I'm trying to compose a COMPLETE list of everything that is supposed to come in a turbo kit, but I dont get straight answers or entire answers... all the way down to oil lines. Can anyone email me a nice long list?

um... just get the stock one powercoated if you want. cant really see the fuel rail anyways.

i would get the vortech sfmu. best thing for a moderate 420a.
anything more would be a dfi, megaquirt, emanage. with these you can run a 1:1. best way if you have the money.

What size injectors do you all recommend? I think I'll need something like 600cc or so.

600cc is gonna be a little over kill, unless you go with a dfi, or some sort of standalone. 440's are a good size for about 18psi i would assume.

ok.. star kit. dont have one, but i think star and hrc kits will use about the same thing as regards to parts.

fuel cut defender
fuel lines?
oil lines
down pipe of some sorts
ic piping
intercooler
fuel pump (inline or intank)
hoses
clamps

cant think of anything else right now. hope this helps a bit.

Thank you grain for your insight. It helped a bit aiding in whether or not I go with Hahns or Star. The guys are Hahns wouldnt give me the time of day, maybe because I'm girl... their fucking loss!
From Star, I got the upgraded FPR made by Vortex SFMU. Has anyone had any expirence with this unit?
Also said fuck it and picked up the T3T4 turbo, if it doent fit, GRAIN, I'm going to hurt you! :p

One more thing, the MSD unit DIS2, it comes with a boost timing thing with or without, which would you suggest.

They didn't spend a lot of time on the phone because building your own turbo system means you will not be buying their kit. and them giving their years of testing and developement isn't good business.

The T3/T4 will fit as long as you have the right manifold, downpipe and rest of the piping, or get them custom made. Choosing the right turbo is another story, you need to pick a goal and decide what you want out of it and go from there. There are more than one trim of a T3/T4, it's not as simple as that.

For a fuel system, it all depends on budget and what you want to build. You can do it all: intank fuel pump, SS lines, Rise rate regulator, custom fuel rail.

There's a lot of misc. little stuff like vacuum hose, other lines, fittings, that will complete the assembly.

A dio it yourself turbo install is not just a one weekend project, there will be things you need to pick up that chances are you won't have.

Sorry, I misread I thought you wanted a bunch on how to build a kit from Hahn.

The Vortec S-FMU is a very nice unit. It will take some time to get the tuning right with it. You'll need to set idle fuel pressures and adjust everything on it. It's been proven to be a good unit, just take your time in setting it up and tuning.

For you fuel rail the easiest thing would be to get yours powder coated. You can buy bar stock fuel rail, but the mounting brackets would need to be made and holes for injectors need to be drilled. For fuel lines, if you wanted to go SS lines all around you can get bulk SS line in 10' roles and then fittings to attach it to the fuel pump, the regulator and fuel rail.

The boost dependant retard control is a separate unit.
I actually like Crane's ignition amps better then MSD, and you can get the add on's for boost timing retard as well.
