First off you asshat, i wasn't being negative. you asked for an opinion and you got it. me being turbo has nothing to do with it! unless you count it for experience.

secondly, with your beginner bolt-ons and for the money you will spend on an exhaust you will not see a big gain. You would be better off spending it on an underdrive pulley.
2.5" exhaust = maybe 2-3 hp, MAYBE!! UDP = 6-8 hp!!
not to mention you said custom, which usualy means press bent piping. 2.5" press bent piping = 2"-2.25" exhaust system with all the restrictions at the bends. Plus a 2.5" exhaust system will be worthless if you don't upgrade your muffler with a 2.5" inlet one as well.

Dont ask questions if you dont want the answers!

The all-motor car with the fastest timeslip runs a GS-T exhaust. Larger piping would probably cut exhaust velocity to the point where the losses would outweigh the gains.

Do0d. Play nice and take your licks. Considering these guys are shooting you straight. You know this question would get you at least 3 GSX owners telling you to "sell it and buy the turbo at tooners." Fact of the matter is, while 2.5" ID is ideal for a normally aspirated application, with only simple i/h/e mods, you're not really going to see anything. You would get more of a gain if you were to find a used GST rear section for $50, and picked upa UDP. These guys know what's up and are only trying to help. Take the shenanigains witha grain of salt man. It's normal and before too long, you'll be clling people fuken no0bs too.

Also, if you really want to do it up right, you'd by the piping yoursefl, including the mandrel bends and have it all assembled for you. NO CRUSH BEND IS A GOOD BEND IF YOU CARE ABOUT PERFORMANCE.

EDIT:
Oh yeah, and that guy you called dipshit is probably one of the few people on this board who scares me. He is a bad mother fucker and you don't want to cross him man. emoji

If they pack the bends, you wont lose any diameter, but I definately would spend the 300 bucks on a few other things, like said above, udp and gst exhaust, hell if you do it right, you may be even able to get some gears.. definately get alot more than gain w/ that than just a custom exhaust w/ nothing to use that exhaust.. and listen to those guys up there, they know more shit about these cars than I do about my balls. haha that just sounds funny emoji g'luck

Dude, shut the fuck up and deal!! no one was a "dick" to you until you opened your mouth against an opinion that YOU asked for and didn't like!!!!

And yet again, you miss the point! the GST muffler IS the upgrade.
and as far as i understand you cant use any part of the GST exhaust other than the muffler.
Unless you do something to increase your HP (which is what i said in the first place "NOS or turbo") over all, the stock size piping is fine with a GST muffler for your bolt-ons!!!

Man, just get whatever P.W.T. ricer exhaust set-up you want and stop asking questions you either cant handle the answers to or don't like the responces to, and stop showin your ignorance!!!

speculation on what will and wont give gains doesnt matter worth shit...

the greddy evo & apex'i n1 dyno at 5-6 hp at the wheels. if you have intake and header, you should have a catback.

catbacks DO give gains. period.

now will a custom give as much as the greddy/apex? who knows

agreed! certain "cat-backs" (not custom) have shown HP increase which vary depending on mods. however, for the money that those cat-backs mentioned above cost, someone is much better off with an UDP and a GST muffler on stock piping. those 2 mods alone will give almost twice as much HP as the cat-back alone!

Does anyone know this for sure? I plan on getting the GST cat-back exhaust since my current one has a leak. I thought that they were the same from the cat back.

But I am still deciding if I should go with the OBX exhaust or the GST cat-back. My head hurts from thinking too much about it.

dude just take it with a grain of salt and listen. A lot of times Tim and I actually say it in a joking manner. You gotta understand we have been on this board for over 5 years. So when we see the same question asked 1000x, when all you could have done was just search, it tends to get to us. Just suck it up and drive on. You'll start to pick up on the humor and scarcasm.

Dude!! holly shit!! PLEASE explain to me how in the hell you thought i was being "negative"?

You asked: "Should I get 2.5 custom exhaust or will I got really gain anything and shouldn't worry about it???? "

I answered: "you wont really gain anything noticable. dont waste the money unless you plan on doing NOS or boost."

It seems to me to be a pretty straight forward answer! Where in the hell in all your awesome college education do you find ANY hint of negativity in that reply???????

And Yes, im being a dick because in assuming i was "just one of those turbo guys being negative again", it sounds to me like you already had a pre-conceived idea of us "turbo guys" looking down on the lowly NT guys and judged me for it!! maybe a lil' case of 'turbo-envy'?

Considering you asked about a "custom 2.5" exhaust" ($$$$) and not a cat-back or "performance" muffler only... Yes, you would be waisting your money in a rather ignorant display of stupidity!!!! and since im not the only one who has said that in this thread, maybe you think all the other guys are being negative against you to????

And yes, i was wrong. why? Because years ago when i asked the "what mod next" question and i was told to get a GST muffler to match my current mods, i listened to those who knew what they were talking about. i didnt have to spend dumbshit money on parts i didnt need or wouldnt get anything out of!!! So i never had to know that a GST cat-back would work.

at least i can step up and be a man about my mistakes...whats your excuse college girl?

Ok what about a OBX 2.5" cat-back vs GST cat-back?
The obx is about 300 shipped.

emoji Okay:::::bitch slaps new noob:::::: emoji AGAIN.....

for the money and DEPENDING on your current mods, $300.00 for a cat-back OF ANYKIND without the mods to support it is foolish, UNTILL YOU HAVE THE MODS TO NEED IT!

Now, having said that, if you have the basics first:
CAI
header
UPD
plugs and wires

then YES get a cat-back to further enhance those mods.

If you dont have those basics first, then you will not see any REAL hp gain (real=5-10hp, for nt) and would not have spent your money well.

If you have those mods, and want a cat-back, go with OBX.

(of course $300.00 is gettin ya pretty close to the ulimite bolt on, NAWZ!!!))))))

i was just messin about the bitchslap, by the wa emoji

Well i do have those mods except the UDP.
And hopefully this summer i will have a 60mm TB and ported/polished intake manifold.

So with all that is the OBX worth the 300 dollars. Be nice emoji

And I'm not a noob, well sorta, but I'm just too lazy to post emoji
But im on the site everyday. emoji

LOL. Do0d. You just seem so frustrated in this post. Like that guy in the Cox commercial where his kid asks him what the internet was like before high speed internet and the dad has the flashback of him ripping the computer off the desk and throwing it off the second floor balcony screaming "STUIPD DIALUP!!!" LMAO man.
