so after my fiasco yesterday, when i start this up today (after turning one of the cams around) if i DID bend some valves, what will it sound like/do once its started? oe will it even start? thanx

Do a compression test first to see if any are bent. Even if the valves are seated perfectly, the compression test may not look perfect until the engine is fully broken in, but it'll let you know about the valves.
The engine will sound "strange" and not run very well. You'll definetly know!

Sometimes a bent valve(s) can cause a sort of loping idle with little power. My friend burnt a valve on his GST and it did this. You could remove the head and see whats going on if it comes down to it. Sorry to hear this man, I've been really waiting to hear/see your beast. =(
