OK.....I have an eclipse gs with a cold air intake, header, dp, and muffler....my friend has an eclipse gs with an intake and muffler....we switched cars and mine is noticablely faster....from a roll at 4000 rpm in 2nd we take off I pull a car and a half within a second and then my car just like stops and stays the same.......I know I have a head gasket leak (oil) could this be the problem??? Will or can that lower my compression cuz that would make sense....someone please help me out.....Also I lost to a tiburon (older one) right after that so please I need help........

Does the engine cut out? Do you stop pulling? Have you done a compression test? How do you know you have a hg leak? Oil leaking out the back of the block?

Does the car run fine but you just stop pulling on your friend? If that is the case then everything is prob. fine. you could have a small hg leak. But Headers on our cars dont do a whole lot. Maybe 1whp and it opens up the powerband a little mid-top end.

Are you just complaining cause your car is slow and want to know why? We need more info.

I know what a header does......it just stops pullin I don't get gaining that fast and the car just stopping??? mitsu and another placed checked it out and both said head gasket....leaking oil out the back, when I was installing the DP I could see where it was comin from out the back of the block...NO compression test....I know its slow but so is everyone elses but a TIBURON I also had someone else in the car but still.......
