#7003, "Finished my Car!!!!!!"

I just finished my car this weekend! I put some cams in, and an underdrive pulley I also got a 5 angle valve job and my head milled .020. Fucker pulls like hell. My car rides fine and doesn't miss fire or anything but it idel's like shit. I hope my timing is not off. I have AEM cam gears as well! does anyone know the best setting? or should I get it on the dyno? I currently have them at stcok setting. I also changed the head gasket and water pump! I did everything my self and it took about a week. This was my fisrt time working on a car as well. I'm so happy how it yurned out!

and one more thing. I need to remove the second oxygen sensor. and just want to tiestrap it up and plug the hole, but does anyone know what the thread on the sensor is? and the pitch?

Timing could be off a little from the milling and the fact that your cams are regrinds. You need to take it to a dyno to tune the cams correctly. You don't want it to be wrong and the valve meet the pistons.

>I currently have them at
>stock setting.

Thats a good start, I would leave them there until you dyno just to be safe.

Good job man, if you have any other questions, just ask.

Correct. The only way to accurately tune cam gears is on a dyno.

Can you try advancing both cam gears 2 degrees and see if the idle improves? Head milling will retard the timing, and I've been told to advance both cam gears an equal amount to get back to stock timing at least.

R&D Dyno did my car, it's in Gardena. I would wait til you get more mods before dynoing, because it's usually at least 100 bucks. I can give you some settings that worked out for me, and you usually can feel the difference. +2 intake and -2 exhaust helped overall a lot, and more in the low end than -2 on both. Those seem to be the most popular settings. Since you're manual and can rev higher, I would try out -2 on both.
