#69568, "maufuction speed sensor --- CEL"

Sup guys.
I got everything back today.
and I go out for a test drive.

What I did: cleaned head, block, new headgasket, timing belts, pulleys, tensioners, new gaskets and seals for all head parts, new 2.5" DP, fully insulated with heat wraps, etc....

Anyway, I go out, I boost to 4PSI at 3rd gear and everything is fine...so I was on the highway, then when I wanna go faster from 55MPH to 65MPH (not even boosting) I touch the gas, and my speedometer JUMP to 120MPH then goes straight to 0MPH while I am still on the highway....then the CEL pop out...

Damn that shit scared me, I pull over and check EVERYTHING, nothing wrong, then when I got home and use my laptop, it's code 15 (speed sensor not working) damn, is it from my boosting? or just that it's time to break? I thought sensors last forever (long time)

MY MAIN CONCERN is this, WHERE IS THAT SPEED SENSOR? I know it's on the front of the tranny, but which one?
I did some search and search through tech files or manuals, I only have the info on the auto tranny... but not on my manual tranny.

Pleaes help!
Pictures on where that sensor is at will be greatly appreciated!!
Gil

actually the speed sensor is on the back of the transmission. If you remove your battery look to the back portion of your tranny were the differentail is and where the half shafts connect into the tranny. right inbetween them in front of the trans mount bracket you should see a black plastic oval shaped thing being held in by one screw. thats your speed sensor. either your sensors dead, a wire loose or the plastic ring that goes around your diff fell off sorta. Check it out maybe the plugs just loose.

The sensor plug is right next to the rear motor mount on the trans. Its the only one there on the trans. You can't miss it dude.

look directly down from wehre the throttle body connects to teh intake pipping. its almost directly down on the tranny from there. mine has been malfunctioning for about a year now, i replaced teh sensor, i think my plug is bad, it jumps up like that all the time, will work fine for af ew days then go nutts then go back to normal.

I think one post on a topic is plenty. Don't make multiple threads on the same thing.
