if your trying to hook up a cat-back, use an oxy-acetalyene torch and cut the nuts off on the muffler side of the cat. this way you dont risk damaging what ya want to keep.
while your there you can uh . . "fix" the cat then you can cut the nuts at the other end
if you happen to have a header, race cat, and a cat-back, then just cut your way through the stuff that pisses you off!!
i just replace my entire exhaust today (manifold to tip ) so if ya have any questions hit me up

yeah, waaaay back when i was pulling of the cat for my "legal" 3.25" test pipe install, we had to cut the things off. With the bolts getting so hot, AND rusting, its next to impossible to get them to actually thread off. 1999 C5 1997 Silver RS Wiseco 8.8:1 Pistons(back to low compression!)
