I just got done putting my engine back in my damn 2g and then some lady hits me with a crappy honda accord. from the left she hit the left wheel. about a couple weeks after the accident my car started leaking oil. I had a small oil pan leak before but this was worse i left a 5 ft long puddle in my driveway and today when i popped the hood to see wtf was going on, all under my hood was covered with oil. all my belts and valve cover are covered with oil. i just put this engine back together all new seals. Could this leak be coming from where my oil pan gasket is and my belts are throwing it up on the engine ?

Btw im writing this from work and tonight ive gotta drive the car home. ;[ which is like 40 minutes away.

Man, it could be a number of things. Clean off your engine, drive it around the block then see where it's coming from.

man if I were you I'd be very careful driving home.. well unless you have left already and I'm too late.. haha but I'd stop frequently just to make sure you have enough oil in your oil pan. If you have oil on your belts, it sounds to me that it'd be a leak from maybe the bedplate or headgasket.. man so many things it could be.. if you can see if any is on your timing belt, that could indicate that the cam main seal is leaking, did you lube it before you put it back? As far as on your valve cover, mine did that when my spark plug well wasnt properly sealed, since everything is new and you just put it in I know you dont wanna take things apart already, trust me I know the feeling, I just totally rebuilt my engine in late July/August and in November, I hit a freakin chunk out of the road and spun a bearing grrr talk about pain. Anyways man I'd check that stuff and then get back to us.. Note that when you first put in new seals gaskets, you will have leaks until temperature seals them all the way. But not that much where it'd be thrown on your belts and stuff, sorry man about your troubles, goodluck. peace

I cleaned it off and let it run for about 10 minutes.
the rubber gasket behind the front cam sprocket blew out I guess a couple nights ago so oil was blowing out of the valve cover at the sprocket end of the font cam shaft. so i cleaned it off and put some sealant on it and WAM works like new again ;]

I dont know how the gasket blew out but i know it happend when i had the throttle wide open. I could feel it happen but didnt know what it was at the time.

It probably was not installed evenly and/or flush w/ the surface.
