i know on the 4g63 it fs yer engine pretty bad, my Dad's just went on his Jetta and no damage, what happens on the 420A's? Just though I should maybe change it if it'll kill my engine

Posting in the wrong section can kill your 420A.

The reason the timing belt breaking will cause damage on a 420A is the same reason it will cause damage on a 4g63 - there is not enough room in the combustion chamber to have an open valve with the piston at top dead center. It is a valve-piston interference design. if the belt breaks, any valve that is open will collide with the piston top when the piston moves towards top dead center. A Jetta uses a 2-valve overhead design and interference is not an issue because the valve angles are closer to perpendicular to the piston. Ours are closer to parallel.
