I'm trying to weigh the benefits of propane vs. water/alcohol injection on my best friends 3/S. You'd need to be heavily modded to run above 93 octane IMO. Unless your boosting, it would probably hurt you.

i've had mixed success (no pun intended) using Xylene in addition to 93 octane pump gas. i heard once that Xylene is alreay added to regular pump gas for some reason, i think i remember Dino saying something about that when i was playing around with mixtures a few months ago.

play around with mixtures. if you're at a little less than 1/4 of a tank, throw in a gallon of Xylene. you can buy it at most hardware stores that carry painting supplies. there's an octane rating estimation guide online somewhere, just search for "xylene octane booster" or something.

this stuff won't boost your octane like CAM2 (112 octane i think?) or C16 (117 octane leaded i think?), but it's useful if you are running lots and lots of boost/nitrous/don't feel like retarding the timing/etc... and real race gas happens to be hard to get in your area. R+M/2 ratings of 95-100 are pretty obtainiable by mixing in this stuff.

if you throw in too much, you will fowl your spark plugs very easily and the engine will run like crap. been there, done that. the only way to solve that problem is to go and fill it with some more 93 octane until she runs right at idle again.

Torco does work, and it's about the only actual booster that does.

hey man good deal, yeah i did a search and found the formula. so yeah 1/4 tank is like 4.25 gallons=544 oz, so i did the math and 1 gallon of Xylene is 30% for 1/4 tank mixture. interesting, i guess that would be enough for 100 octane. i should try that...see it sucks for me, i have to travel kinda far for high octane gas. how much is Xylene BTW? do they sell 'em in home depot?

yeah. i bought a gallon from Home DePOT. i think it was like $8 a gallon. kind of expensive, but the larger the container you buy the cheaper it ends up being.

Buy it by the drum at any paint store like Sherwin Williams.
