#68914, "OBX header question"

I just got a obx 4-1 header, recieved it today, I think i am going to install it 2moro. How many bolts did you receive with the header. I only got 2, for connecting the downpipe and header (i think) Am I supposed to use the original ones for the rest, or did the person not ship them.

Thanks in advanced.

Yes, just use the stock bolts for the head and cat flanges. I did, and haven't had any problems in almost a year.

Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.

for those of you that installed these... do they actually make a difference? ive been in tons of discusions about this and a lot of people dont think they do anything for horsepower. since it was half and half, i decided to say screw it and saved up for a body kit. but ever since then i keep thinkin to myself that those guys were full of it, so i was just wondering what you thought about the obx header.
thanks guys

I will let you know... when i get mine installed.

I just took off all the 8 bolts (they were super rusted) on the exhaust manifold, and I am about to go and go disconnet the DP from the exhaust manifold. I used TONS OF WD40 and pbblaster.

i can't really tell you for sure because my original flex pipe was broken. afterwards, i did feel that throttle response was better but again, my original flex pipe was broken so i can't say for sure. it does weigh less and it looks a whole lot better than the original.

I noticed a difference. Not so much a horsepower gain, but it smoothed out the power band and moved it up in the RPMs a bit. I'll be selling mine in about a month or so pretty cheap because I am in the process of going turbo.

well dont forget me... keep my email address and let me know when your selling it and we can work something out...

one question....

do we want the powerband more up in the rpm's?? dont we want to hit that in the lower rpm's?

maybe i dont know what im talking about so please explain...

Any one know if the OBX DP can be welded to the stock exhaust.

Anyone have any ideas ????

I was thinking that I would have someone cut the exhaust and then weld on a flange onto the end of the exhaust. So then i can connect the new flange and the flex pipe flange. Would that work.
