installed using those directions during my t-belt install.. it maybe took 20 minutes.... it's so damn easy and worth the HP. i can't wait to get my car back on the road. but just fyi i had trouble with those belt #'s when it came to the gatorback. go to the unorthodox site to double check the numbers. i have to buy a belt that is 1 inch shorter for the ps/ac belt.

my car will sound like, bumbabumbubavrooooooooooooooomrooooooooahhhhhhhhhhhhh, kishhhhhh

im anxious to know if that one will work as well... but perhaps the UDP's are different for turbo and non turbo engines. I think the "1 bolt" UDP like you have, is for non turbo, and the other is for the turbo engines. correct?

Incorrect.

AFX UDP has the three bolt holes for N/T. Do not rely on cosmetic differences among different brands to tell you what car it will fit. That blue one is an eBay special? If it is then I would recommend you verify the info on what engines it will fit. Make sure it fits the 420a. I have never liked buying off-brand stuff on eBay due to fitment issues.

so the three holes are only for cosmetic purposes? i didnt know if they served any other purpose thats why i was worried about fitment. thx

no, those 3 holes are for attaching a harmonic pulley puller. if you don't have the holes, then you have to use a 3 jaw puller. that will suck on those aluminum ebay pulleys.

if you want to save yourself ALOT of stress and time borrow the harmonic dampener pulley from autozone. Its made specifically for our cars and its a hell of alot better than the other ones I tried.

I just had mine put on 2 days ago. The one i got is unorthodox, but its a 2 piece pulley. The center piece that goes onto the crank is steel and has three bolts where you attach the rest of the pulley which is aluminum. I've really noticed a difference and the instructions say that its supose to take 5-7 days untill you get the full effect (something about the computer re-calibrating for the weight loss). I would deffinately say that it was worth the money and time. You need to take out the motor mount to lower the block so you can have enough room to get on the puller though.

thats good you've noticed a difference; i really noticed a gain in my car when I parted ways with my stock 'clogged up' catylitic converter. its weird how small things can potentially make a big difference. why didnt Mitsubishi use aluminum pulleys to begin with?
lol

Ok, as promised - my new UDP is now installed (had it put on with new timing belt). I just got it back, but I do seem to notice gains. It seems like theres more gain in first gear and second and a bit in third. If its true that the gain from the UDP will be to its full potential after 5-7 days, its a great buy for your eclipse. Even if thats not accurate, it does provide noticable gains after install.

one more thing- what a weight difference! the stock UDP weighs like 7 lbs! and the aluminum UDP was a bit smaller in size a well. I think someone said that above, but you'll need smaller belts
