Here's a question that I couldn't solve using the search.

A few days ago, I had a CEL (51) indicating that I was running lean. I reset the ECU to see if the same code would show up again. Unfortunately, the car has been lagging from idle up to 3k rpm since the reset.
Then, it jerks and shoots off... kinda like that exaggerated NOS button in the movies.

Is this the way the preprogrammed ECU map runs? I highly doubt it because this isn't the first time I reset the thing. Also, the car has a weird idle now.... some sort of sputtering, "putt putt putt putt" sound.

Luckily, no CEL has returned yet. Any ideas on what this could be? The plugs/wires are new. I replaced the fuel filter about 5k miles ago. Ran some injector cleaner a few months ago.

sounds like its somewhere in your ignition. Try replacing the plugs and if it gets better and then comes back its probably your wires. If the wires makes it better for even longer but it still comes back than its probably the ignition coil.

I had a problem that was nearly the same exact way you described it.

It was oil in my spark plug tube, oil was nearly drowing it out and must have been causing it to not fire that cylinder. The symptom went away after a minute after just putting my foot on the accelerator, and would shoot off like a rocket ...So I gave it a new valve cover gasket, new plugs and wires and poof...no more annoying lag/bogging down, no more car jumping off like it lost it's mind...

Problem solved.

This might not be the case for all of you with the bogging/hesitation problem, but here's what solved mine.
I usually put mid-grade fuel in my car.
One day, I decided to save a couple dollars and go cheap with the low octane stuff.
That's when I got a code indicating that I was running a lean mixture and had a bad idle along with the bogging til 3k rpm.
I decided to fill my tank up with premium grade fuel and the problem was gone after about a minute of driving.

So, I concluded that my car is spoiled. Needs at least mid-grade fuel to run properly. I'm glad I did this before buying new ignition parts.
