#67464, "what do you think of this oil pressure gauge?"
I'm doing some gauge shopping and I've found pretty much every gauge I'm looking for in a small digital package (sleepers don't have gauge pods imo), but this oil pressure gauge is a bit different. I like the idea of it having audible high and low pressure alarms, but I'm not sure. Anyone?

Well, I figure I'll be watching the AF and EGT the most, and I like the idea of being able to hear if there's a problem with the oil pressure from the gauge before I hear it from the piston scraping or banging or something like that. Dunno about illum. The other gauges I found come in red, green and blue. Pretty cool by DynoTune at www.speedshop.org

I'm pretty sure thats a gauge for a boat... seeing as how its water proof and all the stateside dealers are E-marine, yachtsoft, voyager marine, etc. But as long as it works for ya i guess that doesnt matter.

Well the idea for me is that oil pressure is critical to keep an eye on, but I'm thinking it won't relly fluctuate too much unless there is a problem. If I can get one with an alarm for when the pressures outside a certain range, I can relocate it somewhere out of the way and only check it when something is amiss. Yeah, I knew it was for a boat, but they use engines too!

oil preasure moves all over during engine speed changes. it's only important to know if it gets to high or low.. so the audible alert is cool.. then you don't even have to mount it in a very visible spot.
