I am currently in the process (3 days now) of changing my lifters...when i took off the valve cover i could take about 3 liters off since the lobes were pointing up, i want to turn the camshafts so the other lobes face up, how do i do that without turning on the engine?? Thanks!!!!

Why do you not want to turn the engine?
Just put a wrench on the crank bolt and turn the engine over, I suggest removing your spark plugs so the pressure has a place to vent since you have already removed rockers. If the timing belt is on then there is no way to rotate them separately, and no need for what you are doing.

Maybe you already knew this, but if you take the timing belt off (which is the only way you can seperately turn your cams) and everything other than the timing belt is hooked up, you can ruin your valves. This may sound stupid, but I just dont want you to fuck up your valves... g'luck.. Or like he said earlier, you can put the 18mm or whatever size bolt is holding on your crank pulley and turn it whichever way you want. it will turn both cams, but you may still be able to do what you are doing to them. When you finish, make sure your timing marks on your sprockets are "looking at each other" so you dont mess your timing up. g'luck again man.

I changed my lifters not too long ago. To move the cam lobes, I just put the car in gear and me and my mom just gave it a push. (Yes, my mom, she street-raced when she was a kid and knows a lot about cars.)
You'll have to move the car twice maybee three times to get the job done.
