I have a 99 eclipse gs. i've been intrested in some performance mods for a long time now but i was just waiting untill i had the money, now i have the money ive been looking into engine swaps like the evo motor. but some people tell me it wont fit???? I was also looking at things just to put on my stock motor. im not sure what would be the best bang for buck. If sticking with my motor, what mods should i do, or if i do a motor swap what do you think would be the best engine for it. thanks

well get that "motor swap" idea out of your head, its more than likely not gunna happen. its easier to work with what you have. how much power do you want to make? good starter NA mods are like headers, catback, intake, underdrive pulley, etc but if you want more than ~120whp then you're going to have to go turbo, or nitrous, or high compression like dr1665. let us know what kind of power you want to be making and we'll assist you from there

other than that, good luck modding emoji

engine swaps are not easy and are expensive....usually, i would just say buy a faster car if you're going to put that much money for the swap.... if you're planning on keeping the car and your engine....there are plenty of things out there for it...i would suggest searching this site....you'll find lots of information on here..... once you do the usual bolt ons...IE: Cold air intake, exhaust, Underdrive pulley etc....you can go turbo if you have the money....

Start with all of the basic bolt-ons and see how you like it. If you crave more horsepower which you most likely will then turbo it. It all really just boils down to how much money you want to pour into your car and what direction you want to take with your car. Good luck with your decisions and the build up.
