okay, summit sent me the wrong damn main studs. i got the fuckin 4g63 ones. so my problem is that i have a bead of anerobic sealer on the block/bedplate and only the stock bolts.

should i touque those down to get my seal before it hardens (does it harden?) or am i okay to wait for the correct arp studs to show up?

EDIT:

Well god damn it!! WTF??? Do i even NEED ARP main studs? Are the stock one strong enough? is it a recommendation to have them, or just a bragging thing to have them?

Summit shows the Neon main studs as $140.00, where as the Mitsu ones are only $56.00. the guy a t summit is checking if that is corrct or not, but god damn it i dont wanna wait any longer to build this bitch!!!

my post is probly too late but i say wipe it off ASAP before it hardens and just redo it when you get the right ones. maybe i have no clue what i am talking about. never rebuilt an engine. good luck though.

If you are using the correct anerobic sealant, it wont harden if its not torqued down tight. That sealant only dries in absence of air. I would not really want to keep the sealant on there though for a long time...And no, you don't have to have a main stud kit. Stock ones are just fine and plenty strong enough for lots and lots of power..

my machinist guy who builds lots of race engines is highly impressed with our bottom end and wishes he could have a v-8 built like ours.

Anyway he says thos main bolts are more than strong enough and that i shouldn't worry about it, so im not!! bolts are torqued down (i used arp's moly lub emoji )bedplate o-ring is in place, oil & h2o pump mounted to. o yeam crank is where it belongs as well! emoji

with a freshly machined motor, do i really need to check all the celarances and such?

thanks
tim
