#6625, "Water Pump Install???"

I have just one qusetion. Where does the "O ring" go? When I pulled my pump off there is a Plastic ring inside where the new "O ring" should go. So do I need the new "O ring" or not.

You have to rip the timming belt off and the rear belt cover!!! It's hard to get to. I'm getting a new head gasket and my head milled with a valve job, so i'm just changing it in the process!

So good luck.

do you even have to change your water pump? Water pumps last a long time. I just heard that myth about having to change your water pump when you do the timing belt. At satan, that water pump is going to be a fortune. They are going to take it out of your a**

Yep i got the same question. I'm doin my timing belt very soon, and am debating on doing the water pump. Any other car i have owned, it has lasted much longer than 60 k. So for those who have replaced the pump, how difficult is it to do, is it really necessesary to do??? Would the pump last to the 120 k mark on the next belt change???
