well i just went to a shop recently to check what was wrong with my car. well obviously it had a cracked radiator, missing motor mount(there could be more not sure i know one is missing though) and the motor is knocking the guy said i need a new motor but im not sure to believe him because it might be fixable. pretty much it gets louder and harder the higher the RPM's mostly around 2500 and up. also when my car runs it doesn't shift to second(Auto-Trans) seems like its having trouble. i really need help from you guys cause im on the verge of selling it because of the problems its giving me.

don't etch this in stone, but sounds like it could be a spun bearing - in that case you are looking at a full rebuild

and a missing motor mount? wtf?

yeah one of the engine mounts is missing i think its the screw. Sorry if this sounds stupid but whats a spun bearing and whats a rebuild? what exactly do they do to the motor? does it make your car run like new? Is it worth it? and what do i need to do it? Does it cost alot? so i just need to tell any shop to just rebuild the motor right. the reason i ask all this is because when i bought my car it had 130,000 on the clock on it and well the guy said the motor has around 40,000-50,000 miles on the new motor that is currently in the car right now. kinda wierd cause i already have problems did i get fooled? is there a way to tell if he actually DID swap in another engine? man i hope my car isn't a goner? Guys help me out your my only hope.

It is possible that it was a new engine, fairly hard to have proof w/o receipts though, b/c you can clean anything to make it look "newer"..As for the spun bearing, use the search button man, I've posted atleast 3 times about it even as it happened to me I posted, you can spin a bearing w/ an engine w/ 10 miles on it if there is no oil or lack of oil in it. I spun mine by using too thick of oil b/c I read that thicker oil is better for higher mileage engines, so my dumb ass put 20w-50 (5qts) and oil treatment (aka karo syrup) which ended up was too thick for my oil pump to pump evenly and quickly and spun the bearing. If you dont know what a rebuild is, then it will probably cost you alot to have someone do it. If you spin a bearing and it isnt too major (you will know by looking at the bearing if it still exists) then you can get away w/ a new oil pump, crankshaft (either new one or get yours turned) and the connecting rod and piston where the bearing spun. As for your tranny, go to Performance/Engine and click on your tranny, search in there about it. I'm not an auto tranny guy, if you have any more questions hit me up on email or aim. ibplaynuall@hotmail.com or rawdawgstv on aim.g'luck

hmm, the bottom end rebuild should cost aroung 2000+1000 in labor. the tranny, i don't know about that one. try posting in the auto section since maybe the auto sensor components maybe bad, in which case, maybe minor parts replacements on you part maybe possible. NOT SURE THOUGH.
maybe you bought a lemon?

spun bearings suck, but they give you a good excuse when it comes to telling the g/f why u are spending so much money on new internals.
