I've been reading a lot about exhaust wraps/coating and stuff like that. For those who got them, do they make noticeable difference? Would they really keep the temperature lower under the hood? I started seeing little diffence on my hood(old) paint and the hot spots make my paint look faded imo. Since I just put a new hood on, I don't want to mess it up like my old hood... just curious...

Wraps can make a world of difference especially if you have exposed exhaust surfaces like with headers or a turbo. I wrapped my old headers. I've also got heat sheilds on the turbo manifold and a wrapped downpipe.

try not to spill gas or oil on exhaust wraps cause if a flame gets near them they will burn forever!
You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.
If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good. If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast. If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

*edit* I prefer ceramic coating to wraps. If the pipe underneath is not stainless there's a chance the wrap will trap moisture and speed up the corrosion process. Short drives where things don't fully heat up is where this can happen most.

Well, I was thinking about wrapping my header with it to start things off and if I'm correct...I think my header are s-steel. do they have corrosion problems to?

if my header is already ceramic cooated, could i still benifit from wrapping my header and as far back as possible.. id love to wrap all the way back to the muffler, but just the cat will be fine with me.

Just wrap the header primaries. Coated or not, you will benefit. I would not recommend wrapping anything more than a couple feet from the engine. You don't want oil leaks or water getting caught in the wrap.

I bought a used Greddy header and wrapped it before I put it on last week. The wrap comes in two colors - one like ace bandage and the other black. I got the black, a can of silicone sealer, and some stainless steel zip straps. 50 feet of 1-inch wrap cover the primaries. I got another roll of 2-inch wrap. I used this to cover the collector and downpipe (except fot the expansion joint). I used about half of the roll for collector and downpipe.
After I wrapped it, I got some stainless steel wire and used that to make sure the wrap wouldn't come undone. Stainless steel zip straps secured it at the flanges. The sealer does a good job of turning the wrap into a cast so it won't come off or soak up water. I haven't heard Greddy headers before so I don't know the difference between wrap and no wrap. But it does have a deeper tone than before. btw I have a Greddy Evo exhaust.
It took about 3 days for everything to burn off good. If you do what I did, go for a ride on the interstate for about an hour so you don't breathe all the smoke.
The headers give a mild increase starting about 4000 RPM. Above that point you can tell, but nothing big.
