Got brand new batttery about 2 months ago and even got it tested so its not the battery thats going. I Think I have a drain somewhere in my electrical system and I thought it was my alarm but my friend who put the alarm in said that it isnt. He said that it could be my starter that is killing it.. Draining juice even when the car is'nt running. Is this true or bullshit? Also if it is true does this happen often or is it rare. And how much would it cost for a new ignition and install.

It could be that your alternator is going bad, so it's not recharging your battery. Also check the battery's negative cable to make sure it's in good shape. Your car alarm wouldn't drain the system that much.

plus make sure your ecu turns off within 30 seconds after you turn off the car. That was my problem... Michael 99gs HRC Stage IV 8-Injector Setup 2GNT Member #32

How can i tell if the ecu turns off .. Also if the alternator was going, wouldnt the battery go dead faster with me running it with the radio and everything on?

When you drive the car around town, the alternator keeps the battery recharged. Eventhough it does that, if the alternator isn't putting out what it should, or if you have a bad connection (whether it is the + or - cable), the battery doesn't get fully charged. Assuming one of these is the cause, the car will run and the lights will work--even with a stereo system--but it doesn't mean the battery is fully charged. Is the headlight dim at night? Any corrosion at the battery terminals? I went through two batteries with a similar symptom to yours and later discovered that the battery's negative cable was a little broken.

to check if the ecu turns off after you turn off your car. get someone to start the car after a while turn it off and either you or someone else put your ear right beside the ecu and hear if a very low noise turns off? make sure there is no other outside noise when you perform this test. It makes it much easier. cool Michael 99gs HRC Stage 2000 8-Injector Setup 2004 Honda Accord V6
