I have a huge problem, I can't find out whats going on. lat night I was driving, then I noticed my car started to idle real high as I let off of the gas once I stop, and put it into park the RPM's went up to about 4-4.5 and stopped. I got out and check the cable it wasn't locked up, once I got back to my friends house I checked the throttle plate it wasn't locked, or open. It's very odd, I talked ot a friend from PA, he helped me out I then tried to put my hand over the Air Intake, and it still didn't cut off just kept sucking and idling high. I'm really lost of this I just hope its not the IAC, I've also unplug both sensors on there and nothing happend. Has this happend to anyone else?

Did this just happpened once, or is it a repeated occurrence? The diagnose seems to be indicative of a sticky throttle body butterly plate, a bad IAC or TPS sensor. If it's not too much of an inconvenience, I'd recommend taking out the TB and thoroughly clean it with carb cleaner. It might be covered in intake and egr system gook. Also, you wouldn't want to disconnect those two sensors on the throttle body. It will just make the situation worse. And, a not so far fetch question is, maybe the gas pedal caught on your floor mat. I sure it's happened to some people before

I looked at the plate, its not dirty, I know the pedal isn't stuck. I had 4 people in my car at the time, its still doing it its not like an air leak. I thought maybe it was something with the cable but I didn't notice anything.

I was happy to be finished I cranked it up, and it went straight to 4.5k again, once I tap the gas it goes down till like 2k then goes back up, im confused can anyone help?

I dropped it off at a shop, I changed the gaskets, they're at a stand still because they don't know whats wrong with my car its sucking are theres no cracks in the mainfold, its tyte. They've placed there hand over the tb and its still reving high. Has anyone ever had this prob? could it still be a sensor
