Any CEL? Typically, if the idle is sporatic like that, it usually means there's a vacuum leak around the throttle body and the I.A.C. (bigger black thing on the tb) is trying to compensate and stabilize the idle, or the I.A.C. itself could be bad. According to the factory service manual, engine idle should be 850 +/- 200 rpm's.

Facing the engine it toward the back. Follow the intake pipe (stock is black plastic). The intake clamps to a metal part, that's the TB.
TB = Throttle Body, which is a plate that opens an dcloses reghulating the amount or air the engine can take in. It opens and closes as you get on and off the gas pedal.
