I'm seriously considering getting a PC for my car for entertainment purposes and future tuning needs (EIC programing, wide band )2 sensing dand data logging) And if I'm going a head with my quad TB set up I'm gonna need a S-AFC to help play with the MAP signal. Well I had a brainstorm tonight...is there a software and computer harness that will allow me to do the same thing as an S-AFC on a PC and save myself a piece of electroinc equipment? Something like that would be perfect for me, because I like a really clean stock looking interior and having a safc sticking out someplace really doesn't appeal to me very much. If anybody has heard of something like that lemme know. TIA
BTW if this doesn't make sense...sorry but it's way past my bed time

yes, actualy! woudnt it be called a stand alone?
USED TO HAVE...Everything you wish you had, and then some...

well...don't stand alones use flash technology? They're not actually running off the PC. Correct me if I'm wrong but you use a PC to program a stand alone then you "disconnect" the PC and the stand alone does all the work. I was thinking more along the lines of PC always being in the loop...like the S-AFC. Idunno...it was just a pipe dream...I've looked into the mega-squirt quite a bit and that very well maybe the way I go. I forgot that the MS uses all it's own sensors. But I'm a little confused on how all that works with the stock computer. I guess I better go to some Neon boards and see how they marry the two...of if they just take the stock PCM out of the loop completely. I think MS is the way that I'm going to go...but it's going to be quite complex to set up...I like the EO34 (mostly because more ppl here use it) but I don't know if that has enough flexibility especially pre boost that I'm going to need.

You could leave the stand alone connected to the laptop when you are driving. Most of them have a page that displays sensor output, gauge reading etc, tht could be left up to monitor. Very prgrammable and will be able to adapt to any mod, just not cheap at all. As far as basic fuel tuning, S-AFC is a good way to go. You could get creative with your mounting to hide it. Glovebox or in the center console. Underneathe the stereo, and make a cover for it... You could do a fuel controller and program that to replace the function from your ECU.
If you are a really good programmer you could program a controller into a laptop, get as many i/o's into the laptop and control everything that way. But no offense here, if you had that knowledge you'd be working for Accel or Electromotice or Haltech programming their fuel management. Don't worry I couldn't do it either.

BWAHAHAHA....no offense take That's why I'm trying to stay away from a full stand alone. So I think is what I'll eventually end up doing is getting the s-afc (mounted it in the glove box because I want an in dash flip up monitor for the spare DIN space) and the 034 EIC or maybe the mega squirt...I flip flop all the time on that. The MS scares me a bit...too sophisticated...Granted this will probably be years down the road, the way I save money...LOL.
I appreciate your guy's input. If you have any other idea please share
