I heard that on batteries that are non-maintenance free that if you drop a tab of asperin in it once a year it cleans the internal plates. Thus making the battery work like new.

Is must have something to do with changing the acid equalibria since asprin is basicly salcylic acid and soda has a large concentration on phosphoric acid. We learned about the acid base equilibria in batteries in chem but I have since forgotten.

I'd just buy a new battery.

Here in AZ we "rent" them. Even if you don't dirve the car at all, the engine bay stays about 80* or better for more than 4 months. Then you spend a lot of serious stop and go with the AC running full blast and they just can't take it. emoji

I bought a Duralast Gold from AutoZone about 5 years ago. I'ev had it replaced twice since then from dying. Each time, the replacement was free. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.
