#64732, "i think i need new cat"

Whenever i get on the car around 4000 and up i smell a sulphorous smell that fills up my cabin. now its not horrendous just noticeable. also i hear a rattling in my exaust system somewhere. it sounds as if it were under the shifter.... i went under the car and the entire system is intact and nothing is rattling when tapped on. the cat sheild looks pretty fucked up. dented up pretty bad ..thank u nyc.... so im guess that its that. now what i want to know is where can i get a hi-flow cat. i might as well get one since i think im in the market for a cat

so my question is, whats everones take on the cat .. i know the gains are minimal if that but better flow = a happier engine. whats a good place to get one and does catco make one for us ? i couldnt find their webpage on yahoo.

I don't think it will mate up with the exhaust. It doens't have any flanges on it. It looks just like the one in the pic above except it's 2.5". I'm in PA.

exhaust leaks? blown gaskets? might be cheaper to fix those. a 0.89 gasket is alot cooler than a 75 dollar cat IMO. goodluck. emoji

the smell could possibly be from running rich (you have any CELs?)...and the noise could be the heatshield. When I replaced my exhaust I tore the whole heatshield out of there. It was starting to rattle pretty bad right at 2500-3000

Landspeedracing.com Has direct fit race and street cats from PowerCore. I'm getting the street cat eventually. I have the race cat on my Civic and it fits awsome. If you check out there site they only have the race cat listed but if you call ask for matt and tell him you need a street cat. As of price I have no idea for the street but the race one is about $130 or some thing. Tell him I sent you if you call:thumbsup
