thats week!! I guess ill just go with the really quiet sound. I did have two mufflers on there at one time and it sounded quiet till you stomped it then it sounded like a bmw or something

Trust me... you don't want to do it. We built a 2.5" cat back unresonated with a Flowaster 40 series. I have cams, higher compression and head work, with high flow cat, it pretty much does sounds like an old muscle car.
I put the Flowmaster on, and woke up people at idle. blipped the throttle and it sounded very angry. I wouldn't have made 5 miles before I got pulled over it was that loud.
With cams and no headwork and stock cat you might get by and not be oscene, but do NOT put on a Flowmaster without a resonator, they do very little to muffle sound. The added resonance a 2.5" pipe creates Steve thought it sounded like a stock car when I started it up.
I'll be redoing it with a difference choice of mufflers.

forget the V8 sound. be original. i recommend greddy evo or apexi n1. there are lots of deep, "non ricey" sounding exhaust you can get for your car. goodluck.

Just get some very aggressive cams. You'll idle like shit, sound hella aggressive, and probably be a hair faster.
While you're at it, you might want to consider making your fuel mixture way too rich, so you can occaisionally backfire and shoot exhaust flames.
I'm just messing with you, man.. Usually, the snap and crack you're referring to are just byproducts of aggressive tuning. I like the quiet/semi aggressive myself, so I haven't done too much to change the sound of my car.
Try experimenting with different combinations of resonators and pipe diameters, if you're really die-hard about the perfect sound.

Your gonna need a straight through exaust to shoot fire. I have no cat 2.5" pipe and a straight through resinator type muffler. It sounds great, the turbo helps the sound a lot.
When I use my stutter box I can hit a spot with the throttle that will make the EIC dump some extra fuel and get a backfire out of it. With my exaust setup it sends a little fire out the muffler, kinda cool. Between the stutter box and the flaming exaust the ricers seem to stay away from me, which is a bonus.
