#64510, "Intake Question! with pic"

Hi All,
I have a stupid question about Intake Installation. My brother installed the intake like that(as in the picture).

However, when I see you guys'under the hood photo, you guys always show the whole intake out. is that a better performance?
Should I remove the silver metal cover above the intake?
thanks for commment or suggestions!

the metal cover is actually a heat shield...used to absorb and keep the majority of hot air out of the intake. go ahead and leave it, its not hurting anything....plus it will protect your intake when you get water in the engine bay (washing).

EDIT: is that a blitz SUS air filter i spy???

You might want to take the lower portion of the old air box out as it looks like it is blocking the filter. The heat shield shouldn't make much of a difference having it on or off. The turbo heats up the air so much that the differenc in temp that the shield makes shouldn't effect much. I'd probably take it off.

Leave all the heatshields on unless they block air from underneath.
