Ok first off my car got like this after i redline second gear for like a second then a couple of weeks later the motor didnt sound right it sounded like it had a b.o.v(n/t car) then one day my friend ask me to rev it up to 7 grand i do so and it redlined at 55k then afterwards it tried to shut off by itself so i turned the car off and stared it back up and rev'd it up again, it did the same thing my bro said the timeing might be off but i have no idea what it is. any help on what could be causing this? thanks.

You really didn't give much info man. It could be that you hit fuel cut when you revved to redline. ECU will cut fuel to try to save the engine's life above where it's supposed to be run.
I have been told that I'm some kind of "no0bs' hero" around here because I like to help everyone, so I'll see what I can do about this. I will tell you that it's generally not smart to try to rev the engine to redline just for kicks. It's even dumber to do it because your boy told you to. If it blows up, will he be chipping in for repairs? That's what I thought.
Peak power in the stock 420a is acheived at approx. 6300 rpm. Anything above that and your power curve is dropping back off. It takes a lot of money and modifications to really make power that high up in the band (full valve train rebuild, porting, cams, turbo). The only reasone to rev beyond the peak 6300rpm is so that when you're shifting, the engine stays more in the power band (3500-6000).
I think your stuttering was caused by the engine not getting any fuel at the high rpm due to fuel cut. Read up in the turbo forum about fuel cut and you'll learn a lot. Otherwise, do a search on "stuttering" or "misfire" and you should be able to see what the more common stuttering issues people have with these cars.
Welcome to the board. Don't be nervous about using the search. You'd be surprised how useful it can be.
