ok , so i got my bottom end rebuilt, and the head rebuilt and ported....so me and a friend are putting it back together...i had some questions

first off, we put in stage one crower cams, the valves seemed a little open , the local car shop said its normal cuz of the hydrolic lifters....
any info???

on torque specifications
i got the book and i duno it seems to be a little weird how do i have to get every torque right? or if i dont go one half a turn is everything fucked?

on the cam shaft bearing bolt we did 10 ft-lbs(on the inside)
the outside cam shaft bearing bolts we did 21

on the head bolts we did
long bolt 25 ft-lbs- then to 50 then to 50 again - then one more 1/4 turn ft lbs
short bolts we did 20 three times then 1/4 turn

does this sound right??

is there any specs on putten the engine back together i have the book but i want another source...

any info is great

its a composite gasket, and i gave the wrong thing we uesaed its this...
1. 22 lbft
2. 51lbft
3. -90 +51lbft
4. 90 degrees

does that sound right? shit it was hard to torque it...

i'm not sure what you mean by the -90* to 51 lbs, i hope that doesn't mean what i think it means.

for the composite it's suppose to be:

(in lbs.)
- inner 24, outter 20
- inner 46, outter 20
- inner 46, outter 20
- then use a breaker bar and 1/4 all

And this all must be done in the correct order of the bolts.

Why arn't you using an MLS headgasket?
