#64018, "PT cruiser parts...theory question"

i never really game much thought to the pt cruiser lash adj's and rockers till today..i was talking to my friend friday night (he just bought a new srt4)...i was amazed to find that it only revs to like 6700 rpm....now i'm not to down on the neon/pt cruiser side of things, but i thought the advantage to using these parts was to give extra strength so you could rev to higher rpm's?????? it seems to me that the stock rockers are built to hold up to 7300, while the others are only meant to hit 6700...am i wrong????? i would really like to hear some feedback on this...as i'm finishing buying stuff now...i also would like to hear what anyone things about the indy stainless valves that Howell sells....should i try em out or just go with ferrea valves????? feedback welcome please....tks
Mike

I think it has to do with the size of the engine maybe. 420a = 2.0L PT = 2.4L. emoji

The PT rockers/lifters arn't what restrains that engine to 6700, DR nailed it ^.

SRT-4, PT Cruiser and other using the 2.4 are all limited to a lower rev speed than a 2.0
reason is simple: the extra travel of the piston, the 2.4 piston travel a stroke of 3.98 inch against 3.26 for the 2.0
the 2.4 pistons travel at 122% of the speed of the 2.0 pistons all the time per revolution
at 6500 rpm the 2.4 are travelling at 51740 inch /minute while the 2.0 need to run at 7935 rpm to reach the same speed
(example based on overall stroke only and not in real life value)

Alain

one of the 2.4 true pionners
