#63942, "Can any of you Peel Wheels Stock With An Automatic?"

I tried peelin out my tires from a stop the other day in my automatic and I had no success. I don't even wanna think about Neutral Bombing it. Do you think an air intake and exhaust would help me build enough torque to peel wheels?

Why do you wanna "peel wheels".

Peel wheels = no traction = no power to the ground imo.

Well, I have a 99 RS, with short ram intake, GST muffler, and a 60mm Throttle body. from a stop on flat surface i can't chirp the tires. On a slight incline I can.

Just so you know its going to take more than that. I figure, to acheive breaking the wheels loose, the best upgrade would be the final drive mod.

Hope this helps

i could always break the wheels loose in the eclipse, assuming i was power breaking. it probably had somthing to do w/ the 300 lbs of stereo in the back of the car though. more weight to pull=less traction up front.

:shhh: i do cocaine :/shhh:

auto tranny no like to be braked torqued....most of us cant squeel the tire's in our auto's.......and as far as mod's to do it with.....exhaust wont help.....might even hurt....i always thought that an exhaust shifted the power band to higher rpm's....meaning losing low end torque......should be able to do it with the final drive mod.....here is something we all should learn.......just because we can roast our tires from a stop it doesn't mean that the car is fast.....it just has some low end torque........i can do it on very cold nite's if i brake torque to about 1800 rpm's and then punch it......but its just a chirp....no smokey..........and thats with 18's and nitto's.......my car likes me some days.......but on the real.......i dont brake torque anymore.........read about and talked to many people who have had probs. from doing this alot........be nice to your car..... emoji ......over the 2.5 years ive had my car ive only had a speed sensor go out on me......thats all.....no other probs......knock on wood.....

do i own a DSM..... emoji

Just put the front tires on the big strip of paint at the next red light and stomp on the gas when it turns green. Or, get some ArmorAll and coat the entire tire. If anyone actually does this, don't blame me when you hit the curb.

ha! yep. armoral! or you could do it on a road that has little pebbels and dirt on it. Or you could get a manual and do it all day or until the tires go bald and you get smoked out. emoji

Had some success tonight burnin out for a good 3 seconds. Just romped on the gas and it seemed to work. Maybe having no tread left practically has something to do with it...

XtremeRS is right though. You should be thankful.

Try burning out with a boosted 5 spd RS with a stage 3 clutch emoji. Stupid car...

Funny how some people don't want to peel out at all because they wanna go forward...

While others think it's "cool" to burn out and go no where but impress the honda chicks at the local Sonic or Taco Bell...

Intenional burnouts = ghey, imo.

Your transmission isnt designed to burn out. And even if you do burn out, you'll peg leg and only get one tire spinning. How cool is that? And think about your transmission while you're revving to redline burning out and then all of a sudden just let off the gas and stop the TC from spinning as fast as it was.

A604 doesnt appreciate 6k to an immediate 900...its bad MMK emoji
Doing that doesnt allow the pump to push your fluid through because you drop all that pressure it had. Plus...oh nm fook it.

no0bs emoji, imo

Sorry man but just because I dont have 800000 posts next to my name doesn't mean that I dont know shit. If burnout was in the dictionary im sure it would say "to roast your tires in one place as long as possible" or something of that nature.

If you refer back to how the thread started it was about breaking your tires free in general (in so many words). Im not looking to roast my tires on a launch to impress anyone, but more as a benchmark of how much torque I am producing down low in the RPM's.

Yes I agree that my car is fast, as im sure everyone else's car is fast on this site. I beleive the dude who posted originally looking for mods to make his tires squeel was looking for feedback to improve his acceleration, and was refering to that fact that his stock auto tranny wasn't accelerating fast enough to break free.

No doubt burnouts are bad on the A604, as is torque breaking, i dont think anyone will disagree here.

Once again...roasting your tires isnt necassarily a show of your "power" but of the fact that you cannot get traction which equates to you cant go forward.

viva la blow up your transmission.

It doesnt matter how much power your engine can produce if your trans can't take it, which it obviously cant if it isnt transferring power to your wheels...

I dont give a shit how many posts you have next to your name either, it's UBERnoob to want to "burn out" to prove power to yourself. Worst than a but dyno imho.

Some tire spin is good this raises RPMs and gets the car into its power band. smoking your tires all the way threw 1st gear is bad because your waisting your power band. Its all about control of the traction. Do you really think a race car gets no tire spin and if so watch a fast car leave the tree @ full throttle in SLOW MO. Like I said its all about control:thumbsup
