i was having a backfire when i was engine breaking. i would slow down w/out going into nutral, and it would backfire. so i took my plugs out. cyl 1,3,4 were fine. but cylinder 2 was soaking in oil. i mean, i took itout and oil drooled all over the place. mostly on the bottom of the plug. i checked the compression, and it was 210. i looked in the hole, and it looked as though my spark plug gasket was fine. i dunno.

I'd bet the spark plug well gasket isn't there, you really con't see it, I bet it's gone.

Nice choice on plugs too, same ones I run.

ya, spark plugs are good. ill get a new valve cover gasket and sp gaskets tommorrow and change them out. i dont need to engine to go out this early, i still have like 5 more weeks till my fty engine gets here . nice meeting you at the meet btw. i was the one with the bad clutch line. i think i parked next to you in the group photo also

Had the same problem. Changed the gasket and it was fix. Dam gasket was $50 bucks at the dealership the little spark plug gasket were 7 dollars a pice hope you can find them cheaper than I did.

whoa, none of those plugs appear to have the correct gap (especially the #1 one!). might want to change the plugs out while you are in there, lol.

i dunno what the gap is, but i am turbo, so its a little different. i will replace the gasket tommorrow. hopfully this will last me till my fty block gets here.

It's hard to tell, but for turbo it does look like the gap is big. You should be like .35 up to 12 psi anything above 12 psi run .29-.3. I run at .29 and get good spark at 20 psi.
