my car wont start so I pulled a spark plug out and all of my wires from the valve cover but I left them plugged into the coil. I put a plug in the 1st wire and it fired. I moved it over to the second, no firing, then to the third and forth and no fire. I dont know if this is a respectable way of testing spark but if it is, I only am firing in one plug. I never had problems starting it until one day it just stopped. It was misfiring every once and a while during idle and when I got on it. Could this be my cam position sensor? The weird thing is whenever it wouldn't fire at first, I bypassed my msd ignition and it fired right up, but then it wouldn't start again after that one time. Im about to fork out $37 on a cam angle sensor tomorrow so any help asap will be greatly appreciated!

did you have your plugs grounded on your valve cover? you gotta have your plugs grounded. that might be obvious but i figured i'd say it anyways. cylinders 1 and 4 are companion cylinders as well as 2 and 3 so if you're firing on 1 then you *should* be firing on 4. cam position sensor or crank position sensor are possibilities but if you've been having trouble with your ignition, then i think it's pretty safe to say its something with your msd, maybe a loose wire or something. good luc
