i bought one of those cheap ass e bay intakes, its a two piece and the "short ram" piece puts the filter right next to the valve cover, like its touching it. do you think it would be worth the trouble to cut the lower piece in half and put the filter down in the open space where the stock airbox would be or would i just be wasting my time? i really dont wanna just put the full cold air on because around campus there is an assload of huge puddles that i have to drive through every day.thanks

put the extention on...puddles aren't going to hurt anything, you can drive in a rainstorm if you want, just as long as it doesn't get completely submerged.
