As Xplained in my prev post, I currently lost my CAI & have started a search 4 a replacement. I have just 1 Q...
My old CAI didn't use the return line from the valve cover 2 recycle Xcess Xhaust. Instead, I placed a small BOV-type filter (U know what I mean) on the valve cover so it was just blown out in2 the engine bay w/ fresh air B'ing pulled in instead.
Now that I'm searching 4 another CAI, I C that almost all CAI's DO have the return line connected. Pleaz correct me if I'm wrong, but NOT connecting the valve cover 2 the CAI makes more sense 2 me. I'm not really up 2 cutting off, welding closed, and sanding the lil Xtension off the CAI... call me lazy.
What do U peeps suggest? Is there a reason 4 the connection (other than gas mileage)? Where is a good place 2 find a CAI w/out the CAI plug 4 the valve cover or am I stuck filling it in if I don't want it?
Sorry, my 1 Q grew 2 3... if it does mean I'll have 2 fill it in, I'll prob just reconnect the valve cover... Yes, I'm that lazy... JB Weld takes 2 long 2 dry, lol

you can just clog it off with something....like a big screw, or bolt..... you dont need it, if you just have the filter comming off of the valve cover, then its actually better that way imo.... when its connected to the CAI, its just sucking in those excess fumes and such....hope that helps, i was a little unclear on the actual question doug

like what he^^^ said. Just put a little piece of hose onto the fitting and plug it with something. Leave the "mini-filter" on the VC and you're all set. The benefit of this set-up is that it will keep and oil that would be blown out the VC from entering the intake and clogging your IC.

1 of the best things I've ever done 2 my car in keeping it clean is puttng mesh in the front scoop, popping the brake scoops, & meshing them 2. I'm sure U guys know... no more leaves, trash, plastic walmart bags, paper plates, torn pages from magazine, etc. Best mod 4 $4.50 IMO & helps enormously in keeping engine bay clean
