I use the pure1 filter. It's just as good as the mobil1. I think they both have a double element.

yeh I don't think it really matters what filter you use as long as you change it often. Even the recommended 3k is considered as OFTEN or TOO OFTEN hehe emoji

I used to get mobil1 filter expensive now I just get pure1 filters, I guess just don't spring for something that's too cheap hehe. But according to my auto teacher who took some filters apart and examined them the purulator filters are so so, motorcraft (FORD) are good, fram is cheap less folds, WIX are really good filters a little pricey though but not as pricey as mobil1.

what determins how good a filter is how much crap it can filter, how little crap it can filter (as in how small particles), how many folds the paper has, and probably how strong the casing is I guess.

Remember when you don't change your filter enough it simply stops filter at all. cuz its so clogged no oil will go through it so they built a little bypass valve into it so if it gets clogged the oil won't go through the paper and just go in and out.

I like how this was going at first.

I was all psyched about this turbo system I saw for sale at this website called Hahn Racecraft. I called them up and said "I'll take one!" Then they asked me how I was going to get the three thousand dollars to them and I said, "well, maybe I have a few more bolt-ons to do first - uh, buhbbye!"

And now the riddle of the day -
If a Fram filter is half as good as the Mobil 1, would 2 Fram filters in a duel filter set-up be just as effective? Hrm...

I change my oil and filter like every 2k miles. Is there any real benefit from getting an expensive filter?

I figure since i'm changing my oil so often, the oil itself isn't getting all junky to need a real good filter.

I use the napa filters, they are decently made and reasonably priced.

I use the Bosch filter as well. Good price, and a great filter. I'd stay away from cheaper filters..
