#61767, "SImple UPD and belt question"

I threw my belt on the alternator the other night. I have a stock setup on the car at this moment. I also have a UDP on my spare engine and I found a random spare belt in the basement today, but I don't know if it goes with my stock engine or whether it goes to the engine with the UDP. After doing a search I see that the Bando # for the UDP belt is 3PK800. The spare belt I have is labeled 4PK800. Anybody know if that is the stock belt number?? And if not, anybody know what the stock belt number is??? .... b/c I appearantly need a new one emoji

Well the belt you have is the belt that would have come with the UDP. Sorry don't know the stock belt # off the top of my head.

*EDIT* Dayco 5040355 is listed as a stock replacement belt. Don't have part #s for other manufacturers, I'll need to search further.

That's cool, usually all the manufactures have some variation of the same numbers. So I'll jot that down and try that in AutoZone tomorrow and see what happens.

Autozone or Advance can give you stock replacement belts and #'s for other manufacturers. They can cross reference parts to find you the cheapest one. Cool stuff. Goodluck.

I held onto the old belts as well as the wrappers for the new belts when I put in my UDP. Howell gave me a Bando 4PK 800 alternator belt with thier UDP. The old stock belt is a Mopar with a big huge amount of numbers on it. 4668240 30114G 20-5172

The 40355 number is correct for most manufactures. It also goes by a 4PK900, similar to the UDP belt. I picked one up for 10 bucks and got it installed tonight. I had to buy a 15mm stubby cresant wrench though too in order to reach the tensioning bolt on the back of the alternator - what a PITA to reach up under the engine and tighten that thing down. All the directions I've read from other guys say to go down from the top, which wouldn't be problem normally. Except I have turbo w/ a FPR and three different fuel lines that are all now in the way. Too much work to undo just for a tensioner bolt.
