My car used to sound good real deep sound, but now it sounds like a honda civic. Why is that the muffler looks good its a 3Aracing brand. I really hate the way its sounds. HELP

It's normal wear and tear. Over time the material in a muffler will lose its original sound dampening qualities. This can be caused by intense heat, water damage, and carbon build up. I have noticed that this happens to most of the cheaper weld on mufflers like those by 3A, OBX, APC, etc. Some of the better quality exhaust systems have like a steel wool or another type of protective material between the tubing and the dampening, and that helps to prolong the life of the muffler.

I am not aware of any sort of fix that will restore the original sound. Perhaps someone else might.

its the muffler being burned out (just a phrase). alot of ppl like to buy mufflers like that, but usually they sound better after you run them awhile. then as they get older they lose their quality in sound. i dont hear that happening much tho

just weld in a resonator from any muffler shop...25 bux, took 10 minutes, sounds like any $600 exhaust system.

Just save some cash and buy your self a good system, Greddy, Apexi, to name a couple....you'll be happy then! And oh get the turbo muffler, it's better! It's the Apex N1 Series.

When is the money spending going to stop on this fucking car?!

Twiste is right. My friend who just bought an eclipse got a cheap custom exhuast that is awsome and has good performance. He only paid a total of $200 for it too. He got custom 2.5" piping from the catback with a 22" cherrybomb glasspack in place of where the stock resonator would be. And a 10" resonator in place of where the stock muffler used to be. With a 3.5" chrome tip welded on the end.
