#61639, "OMG! I'm sick of this $#!@"

Okay, if anybody has been following the shit that's been happening to my car, from the tranmission exploding, to the shop that put my new transmission in (because I was a full time student, and had a full time job at the moment) who wrecked my car, and put in a bad replacement tranmission the first time, and by the time it was running it had been in there gay shop for 2 months, and they denied the damage from where they wrecked it!!! Not to mention they destroyed my clutch slave cylinder and my frame was bent and cross member bent to hell, all which came from my expense.

I did have them put in a clutchmasters stage 1 clutch, and a findanza flywheel, as well as replace the rear main seal while the tranny was off, and I got that chatter from when the tranmission was in neutral and the clutch was engaged.

Well after I rebuilt the head, and put the af-x pulley on, the clutch started slipping a little from the extra power, and it got progressively worse and would go away mostly after running for a little bit, as if liquid was getting on it. So the last few days it's been slipping so bad it would redline if I pressed on the gas over 25%, so I took it to Mike Patton Dodge (I know the people up there). I believed it to be the seal on the imput shaft was leaking tranny fluid onto the clutch plate (which also I suspected since I heard chatter as if the imput shaft was bouncing around), since it couldn't of been the rear main seal since it just got replaced. Since the tranmission was under warranty, it would get fixed free of charge...

Hardly, it wasn't the tranmission. The brand new findanza flywheel (kind w/ rivited starter gear, no flex plate needed) and the non-modular clutchmasters stage 1 clutch were completely destroyed! There was 1/8" impressions into the flywheel from the almost bare clutch disk rivits digging into it. This clutch which has been babied for the 3k miles that it's seen!!!! The main bolts for the flywheel to the crank had worn spots on them from where the absorbing springs on the clutch disk had been rubbing (and the springs had lots of the metal worn away).

So, what this means is that: I have to pay the satan tranny removal fee (since it wasn't the tranny so it wasn't covered by the warranty), I have to buy a new clutch, new flywheel, new throwout bearing, and new rear main seal (because the new one they put in less than a year ago at the fucked up transmission place was leaking ever so *slightly*).

These are the prices they gave me for parts:

oem modular clutch - $433.40
rear main seal - $16.43
T.O. bearing - $41.47

Should I go w/ the oem since they have a 1 year warranty or get aftermarket (note: at the moment I can't spend more than the cost of oem). Why the fuck would the clutchmasters clutch destroy itself on the findanza flywheel!

I'm soo pissed. NEVER go to "Professional Transmission"! I think I'm going to burn that place down, they've destroyed my car and budget.

Anybody that has read any of the other shit besides listed here that's happened to my car *knows* I have some *bad* luck.

I need to give them my decision on what to do parts wise by 10 am tomorrow.

Ignore my foul mouth. emoji

It's alright man, in January of 2002, my car was effortlessly destroyed when a shop tried to change a head gasket and a timing belt. And look where i'm at today.

I wonder if that includes a flexplate? or if they can use the one on the findanza flywheel, or if they will figure it out after they order everything else and then I'll have to wait another week and a half for them to order one.

Sry to all you hard core eclipse enthusiests, I loved them, even thought they were awsome now owning my own eclipse I've realised they are "satanic cursed from hevan and hell, giant peices of SHIT!!!!!!!!" everything that can go wrong with these cars will. From un-explainable phantom problems that start small or in one part of the car and spread to the rest of it, causing unheard of repair costs. To buying new parts and having the train the parts are on derail to shops wrecking your car while they are suppose to be fixing them to anything you can think of and things un-imaginable. I have had almost every peice of my car break in the time I have oned it (one year) the engine blew up, I mean it blew the %#@$ up! in the middle of the new mexico dessert (while not even driving it hard) my clutch has been replaced twice in 3 months, I'm on my second transmission with the same problems as the old one, I can't shift, I can't sell the car, there is a phantom problem every time I go or stop....the left front end makes a snapping noise, my tie rods went out ( that's right inner and outter), the new tie rods were put on with boots ripped IN HALF!!! and I had to pay extra and wait 2 extra days for these ripped in half tie rod boots, my cv axles went out and were replaced and are going out again three months later, I put on a new altenator belt and now the serpinteen belt is screaching, the high pressure line for the slave clutch cylender sprang a leak out of no were and I am unable to fix it on top of that "it seems to be unfindable, unless through special order", and after I replaced the first engine from it blowing up, the new engines crank shaft is %^*&#$, not to mention the radiator over flow suddenly felt the need to spring an instant leak which is pretty conciderable, also the car keeps getting to hot even under normal operation this was before the second engine and after, as well as with a new water pump and both fans running ALL THE TIME. I bought Tokico blues and eibac pros and the back end hangs over the tires hitting the tire every time I hit a bump, It's had two back to back four wheel alignments and still pulls, not to mention the steering wheel is crooked as hell and no one at the import specialist shop I took the car to and bought the suspention from can tell me why the car won't ride like it's suppose to as well as any were else that deals with suspetion, stearing or alignment. I bought this car with great asperations of making it nice as hell INSTEAD SO FAR IN THE LAST 7 MONTHS I HAVE SPENT A LITTLE OVER $12,000, YEAH,,, }TWELVE---THOUSAND---DOLLARS{ JUST KEEPING IT RUNNING AND IT STILL WON'T RUN. Every time I fix something, something else brakes or explodes and just when I think I've replaced every working peice of the car something I've already replaced breaks AGAIN!!! and every thing I have replaced either gets lost in transit, broken upon installation or is broken in transit to me. These cars are cursed more than satan!!! himself. The most agrivating thing about this giant piece of cow shit is that NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!- kmows anything about, anything to do with these cars, even on here, and no one will buy the %&^*#$% pile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone read all that and then tell me what it says. lol
Well, now the thing is, if you're going to own a DSM and plan on keeping it for any amount of time, you MUST learn to do some work yourself.
It's one thing if you're just going to keep it stock. But, if you're going to mod it, learn how to fix it because it WILL break. A lot.

I did do the work myself, I've done the work on all my cars, (which by the way were never as horrible as this one) unless I don't have the time or tools with me. I work on the road so I'm not always so close to home. The second tranny and clutch-me, the master and slave-me, bleading the system, me all upgrades which are alot more than I mention on here-me, braking systems, suspention, so on and so on. But when you have to replace these things this many times even doing the work myself gets expensive and tiresome, I don't run the car hard or race it. It's just my lightly modified work car. The parts that break have been things I've replaced, factory things on the car and also things I've paid shops to do. So all in all it's fustrating, time consuming and expensive no matter what any one could say.

Hey thanks man. That was pretty much it, a long day of working on the car and fustrated. But for all the rest who want to know where the 12K went. I did alot of work myself but not all.... so here goes. Replacement engine, timing belt, alt. belt, motor mounts, two clutchs (in three months), tranny, CV axles, rotors, brake pads, shifter bushings, short throw, tie-rods (inner and outter), two 4-wheel alignments, tires (lots of tires at $750), slave cylinder, master cylinder, header, exhaust, intake, camber kit (to correct previous bad camber), clifford alarm (cause crack heads can't stay away from my car, ha), $1,700 7 speaker sound system, and various tool and fluids. I guess it doesn't really sound like it should have costed that much but it did (unfortunetly). The engine ran me about 2.2K and you can guess at the rest. Now since the last time I posted the bearings are going out so I guess you can say it is a pretty cherry ass lemon lol. I know a few things on the list have nothing to do with making the car run better like the stereo but it's money I've spent on the car.
I never even got to spend money on the looks so it still looks like a pile lol. I've been trying to sell it but no one will buy it so now I figure I'm stuck with it. I'll have to suck it up and keep sinking money into it with a good attitdue. So expect alot more post from me when I run into problems and can't figure it out. By the way that suspension set up only fits on the car right one way and if I installed it wrong the back would sit up higher than the front, not the other way around.

Shuddup Tony. Just because I don't have the wherewithal to fix my OWN damn car doesn't mean I wouldn't fix one just to show off.

ah quit yer whinin! try dealing with a British car! i used to hav an old Jaguar that was wired the wierdest fucking way, your wipers wouldn't work and you'd trace the problem to a seat heater relay! of course that only happens in the summer when you wouldn't have a clue that the seat heaters aren't working! plus the cooling systems are designed for nice cool foggy ass english weather, try running the heater on full blast when it's 103* outside just to keep the damn thing from overheating! stupid lucas crap!

lol yeah I'd love to sell it to you "darkone" only problem is when it's running right it hauls but it usually doesn't do that for more than two weeks at a time lol plus I'd sell it to you and you'd never have another problem with it and I'd be kicking myself lol.

Im raising the BS flag 12000 in 7 months and you do most of your own work. If your doing your own work please hide your bong before you work on your car. I think thats the problem. you do know for what you have paid you could have 3 ok condition eclipse's or 2 really nice ones. Sure there are lemons out there but with 12000 invested it should be a cherry ass lemon.

My car is a 96 I got her in 98 with 40000 miles on it and have put less than 500 in service work into her. yes its time for a timing belt, thats life. I have never taken it easy on her either. I have gone 10000+ miles without an oil change at least 3 different times. Not my smartest move. I now have 115000 miles With the stock clutch. I have a center force stage 2 waiting for the first sign of slippage.

yeah, did you actually use tools when you worked on your car? emoji Have had my car for 4 years now, replaced headgasket and timing belt and waterpump at 60k (the previous owner ran the car into the ground, automatic trans was fucked) and ahd a trans shop rebuild the auto trans in it.

Since then the only problem I ever had was that fucking trans going out again, but before I let it get as bad as before (car would go in limp mode every day at least once with the original trans, second oen started doing it occasionally after a couple months! ) I swapped in a manual trans that I bought off Terry, and I have not had one problem since (I actually think my headgasket is gone again, but again this problem was entirely my fault, doing a retard burnout while the car was still very very cold).

Treat the car right, maintain it, and you won't have problems. stupid crap like your suspension sounds like either you got the wrong parts or installed them wrong. Your fault, not the cars. My tokico setup is perfect, easy install, and the alignment is perfect, even without a front camber kit, and my tread wear after many thousands ofmiles is still even.

I love my 2g.

its a love/hate relationship.... the grace period of everything running mechanically great, then the 3 days to a week of hell troubleshooting the thing. I still love my RS, never left me stranded, even limping it would take me home to fix her.. emoji
