im leaking oil out of the cam position sensor and the valve cover, i got the valve cover gasket and tube seals but is there a gasket for the cam position sensor? thanks guys

Yes, it looks like a small rubberband with little ribs every 1/2".

is it called a cam position sensor gasket? i asked for one at autozone and they didnt even have it on their parts list... thanks for the info

you could try just snugging up the bolts first, maybe they're loose..... i dont know what the gasket would be called, but i just replaced it on my friends car that we were doing a head gasket change

It comes with the upper gasket kit, just call the dealer they can get you one.

Mine never leaked.

We got done doing the rebuild and I asked John (run4cvr)
Hey. I wonder what this knobby little rubber band is for?"

He said CPS gasket. Hmm. Never leaked in over 140kmi, so I left it out. Now my CPS is the only part of my engine that I know is leaking and I don't know where the damn thing went.

Maybe Sarah used it like a ponytail holder or something. emoji

I just use some Black RTV to hold that in place. That's all that is necessary. I use black RTV for a lot of things, though.
