#6141, "60K service..."

I want to go ahead and do the 60K service and a few other things before I purchase a Hahn kit. I'm made a list of things I would like to do, I would appreciate your feedback on these item. Have I missed anything?

1 Replace Timing belt

2 Replace stock pulley (and belts) with AFX underdrive pulley (and belts)
- Should I replace the front oil seal?

3 Replace water pump
- With OEM one?

4 Should I replace the cam gears with adjustable ones?
- IF I take the cam gears off, should I replace the seals?

There is a lot of other stuff I will do (change collant, change oil and filter, valve cover gasket), but the above is most concerning.

Yep! Apparently mine wasn't replaced before? I am feeling the pain now.

Sure.

Yes and yes. Do as much work while you
are already in there. And for the seals, yes! My cam seals were leaking too! Car is in the shop right now 6k miles after my 60k service. I am having cam seals, front main seal, and timing belt replaced (again) because of this problem

Please tell me that this isn't the first time that you're changing your oil emoji

Also, water pump and timing belt go hand in hand

I'm about to do this too. Here's the list I have so far:

timing belt
afx pulley
tensioner
water pump

here are some things I'm not sure about:
idler pulley
cam seals
front oil seal
front main seal
guide bearings

and maybe these while I'm at it:
head gasket
valve cover gasket

and this needs to be done:
ball joint recall

and then some routine stuff:
coolant change
oil change
clean air filter
fuel filter
spark plugs
wires
manual transmission fluid

What do you guys think? Thanks for any info.

Dom

Ok, here's something that i see has been overlooked. It happened to me, so i'll let ya all know this heads up. The head gaskets on our cars SUCK. And if u know anything about cars, u know that when the head gasket goes.. so does u'r engine. Like mine. So if i were u i would replace the head gasket on u'r car, itz like 20 bucks if u do it u'rself, or around 300 if u get a shop to do it, but it can, and will save u'r ass. Also might wanna look into changing u'r trani fluid.

For someone who has done very little internals work would changing the head gasket on my own be out of the question? $20 sounds a lot better than $300...

I have that EXACT same question. Is the water pump necessary, and what happens if it does die? Do you just have to replace it then, or will it damage other stuff if it dies? My timing belt, tensioner, and head gasket were replaced at 47k miles. Do I need to do anything else major soon?

my water pump went out a little before 60k. Here's what happens; you're driving happy as can be. You here some strange noises that seem to be close to your car, but you figure its the clunker next to you. After realizing it doesn't stop you decide to pull over and you see green stuff dropping very rapidly from your under the car, motor starts sounding funny, its getting overheated!!!
Then the paranoia of looking at your temp guage every 20 seconds starts
