"we can pull the starter and maybe get it working. If you want to try it, bring some synthetic grease and at least one full can of brakeparts cleaner. Often a "dead" starter simply needs a lot of carbon cleaned out and the gear mechanism cleaned/regreased to get it working again. Mine "died" about 3-4 years ago, but it's still going after a cleanout."

will this work. when I try to start the car it just clicks. Its been slowly gettign harder to start. I really dont feel like spending $ for a new starter but I will if I have to.

Dave chances are, your connection is loose. I would have to tighten mine every so often. Lift up the red rubber boot and tighten that nut. Go a little lower and tighten that ground connection.

Well I just took it off. The connections were fine. My starter is messed up because a long time ago when I first got my alarm with auto start I styarted my car and It was pusshed up against my friends bronco in first gear. It keeps trying to start over and over and it probably wore out the starter. Ever since then its ben gettign weaker and weaker. I guess I'll just go get another one. Maybe they can fix it at autozone.

I just bent over with no vasiline! $149 for a remanufactured starter from autozone. But atleast my car starts. I keep dumping money into this damn car!
