My tranny is shit... My synchros ar all going and I need to replace the transmission soon. I'm looking to find out some of my options for swaps or cost effective repair. I've heard a little about the sohc neon swap, what about the dohc. Are there any other trannies that would work for us. If it helps I have a 95 esi. Also I'd like to do some performance upgrades while I have the tranny out, so what are some options on flywheels and clutches?

by the way I'm n/a maybe going nitrous, possibly turbo...

Try reading the Manual Transaxle (NV-T350) Forum. Everything you need to know is in there.

The sohc neon 3.55 tranny is a good swap because it has longer gears, which should help reduce wheel spin once you go turbo. The SRT-4 tranny I heard also has long gears and should bolt up to our cars. This info was told to me by Forwardmotion.com , which sells both. Keep in mind, if they do have the 04' srt-4 tranny in ,it'll come with the LSD standard. Nice upgrade imo. emoji

You could just rebuild your tranny, or you could swap in a 3.55 final drive soch neon tranny in. or you could do what i was going to do and just slap on JUST the 3.55 final drive 5th gear and see what happens. but i ran into someone who is willing to sell me just the 5th gear from a 3.94 so i'm going that way. gl. someone research the srt4 tranny a little more. i'm interested.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.
