It's hard to explain.. it kinda feels like turbo lag, but i don't have a turbo. haha.

Basically, say i'm rolling in first gear at like 2k rpms, if i floored it, it would start slow and then kick me back in the seat at like 4000 rpms.

I'm clueless as to what could be wrong. I had an exhaust leak, which I thought was causing the sluggishness, but I fixed that and it's still the same.

And I have a bored tb and everything, which should improve throttle response right? Dunno what's goin on.

I'm going to try to put new spark plugs in.. my ngk's are past due for a change.

Anything else you guys can think of? Bad sensors? cylinder compression dying?

you are misfiring at low RPMs. The plugs may fix this. How old are your ignition wires?

Same thing was happening to me about a year ago, I lost to a 2001 civic!

I ran a tank of gas with that injector cleaner and changed out my fuel filter at the same time and beat it by 4 car lengths.

I guess you could always make sure that it isn't your fuel system first.

I beat an IS300!!!

mods: custom CAI, pacesetter header, MSD ignition, unothodox udp, polyurethane motormounts, egr blockoff plate, ngk iridiums + wires, Greddy evo catback, ported intake manifold.

I'd check spark plugs, wires, and fuel filter. Also, the injector cleaner isn't a bad idea. Also, you may want to clean/re-oil your intake (assuming it's aftermarket).

that's the way my car feels. i thought it was because my head gasket is leaking like a siv. my plugs and wires are about 4 months old, and i did my fuel filter a week after the plugs and wires. any help for me

You may just need a new HG sir. Do a compression test. If your gasket gets too bad, you will lose compression I think. Coolant is also, nonflammable, so it might qwench the explosion in a cylinder, meaning less combustion, meaning less powah.

Update:

I changed the plugs today. Wow, I get kicked back as soon as I floor it, at any rpm. I guess those NGK coppers just need to be replaced more frequently then I was prepared for.

I will do the fuel filter too, just cuz it wouldn't hurt.

What Plugs, and plug wires are you using whts the diameter of wires and stuff... I think im due for alittle engine work

I'm just using stock wires. There's been discussions on if aftermarket plug wires really do anything.. at worst, they work just the same as stock wires.

As for plugs, i'm using NGK Coppers one range hotter. I forget the number, it's something like bkr5e-11

You can also get it without the -11 tag, just check to make sure the plug gap is in spec with your car (.035 - .05 inches)

I think mine are gapped around 0.04... can't really say for sure cuz i have a metric gapper and conversion wasn't 100%
