hey i was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with the pacesetter that i should look out for and if you got the black painted header does that bastard burn the paint off and how long does it take that shit stinks thanks

The fitment problems are related to the header making contact with the thermostat housing. It has to be ground down to fit properly. Also the black paint burns off I sanded mine before putting them on and repainted them with HI TEMP paint. Good gains for the price.

the fitment is terrible. the black paint lasts about two minutes. if you intend to brace it to the block, then you better be careful because it tends to pull on the head flange (some have broken the welds on the flange from the tension). the nuts that they send with the header are poo, they are are ACTUALLY nylon locking nuts(nylon melts with heat), and it doesn't give much of an increase in performance.
that being said I LOVE MY HEADER
I suggest if you want to get one of these. expect to spend a little time with installation. get the black paint off of it and spray it with either ceramic paint or Permatex copper spray-a-gasket. use locking washers with their locking nuts. when installing it, fasten it to the block BEFORE you mount it to the head. use your stock manifold gasket (or buy a new OEM gasket). have available a way to grind down the head flange. make sure to re-torque your header and all of the other bolts after it has heated and cooled down (you should with any header anyway).
and you will love this header too. the price is reasonable and it makes the flow soooo smooth.

I'm no expert on first time fittment since I got mine used from run4cvr, but we painted the whole thing with that Copper Spray-A-Gasket stuff. It smokes like hell for about 30 minutes, then after about a week, it flakes off and the whole thing is gunmetal. Looks awesome imo. I should really get a picture of it.

yeah there are fitting probs but you can just grind it away no big deal and cheap ass paint so it burns of in like a half hour and looks like shit when it finally stops smoking also i didnt notice any real difference. has anyone else seen a difference i imagine it top end but dunno:shrug
