Perfectly normal - no load on the motor, it'll hang the timing curve way out there.

Same with low-load cruise conditions, Only time you really need to keep an eye on it is WOT, high load situations, where it should fall way down, climb slowly with RPM, and peak out around 19-21*.

you are running 48lb injectors on a NA engine? can i ask why? i understand you may be preparing for a turbo future, but damn man. i hope you have a SFMU too, to lower ur idle FP, cause even NA, you will have to lean out SOOOO much that it may cause timing issues for you. not sure though, id be careful man.

WOT, 5th gear, 140MPH, you're seeing ~40* advance? That's bad. Why the hell are you running injectors that big on a NA ar? That's a waste..

Man, you are lucky you haven't cracked a piston even being NA. 120 mph WOT with timing advance over 40 deg... that's BAD. The reason you are having this problem is because you have to use the safc to adjust the MAP sensor voltage. The MAP sensor is used to adjust the amount of fuel delivered as well as to determine ignition timing. Basically, your car thinks you are at 1/4 throttle when you actually have the pedal to the metal. Get rid of those injectors until you actually have the turbo on the car. Then you can drop your fuel pressure significantly with a regulator and not have to make as much correction with the safc.

damn man especially you should be running super rich regardless!!! the inside of your head, pistons, and exhaust must be black as charcoal. take out your spark plugs and you'll see what i mean. that's a lot of unburnt gas there.

I understand what you guys are saying but if I was haveing any kind of problems you would small alot of unbrunt fuel and I would be foeing out plugs like a bicth but there is no smell and I've had the same pulg since the rebuild and I would also be haveing a knock at low ideal shit I at 120 you should be able to feel the knock it would be so bad. I fix the temp cooling problem it was my coolent temp sensor and by the way it any one need the OEM part number for that sensor it's M56027873 and that is a dealer Item only

You said it yourself that you were seeing 7-9 deg advance at idle and 40+ at WOT. Your problem obviously lies with your WOT timing and who cares about idle. You do realize that you have twice the amount of advance that you should have, right? Whether you can hear it knocking or not is irrelevant. If you have pump gas in that car, I guarentee you that it IS detonating. If you wanna crack a piston to prove my point, that's fine with me. It think its crazy that you came here to get info on your timing problem, but then when people are telling you to get rid of those injectors and get your timing back down to a sane level, you dismiss it. Then to top it all off, you say that all you want is the amount of fuel flow of the stock injectors in lbs/hr instead of cc/min. Run a search on yahoo for conversions and I'm sure you can do the math.

1. buy 30lb injectors and take off 400's.
2. dyno tune.
that'll fix the problem.

I think if we bring it down a notch it will help you out more. If you have 440cc injectors with only a safc to correct the fuel. This causes TIMING ADVANCE, which causes you to crack your pistons. If you would like to know why, it was explained above. We already know this, this isnt something that we THINK. They are saying you should go back to stock injectors for this reason. Hope that helps clear things up.

*edit* I just read your last post.. It would be useless to run bigger injectors 30lbers untill you are turbo. Put your stock injectors back in. Then when you are turbo, swap and put your 440s back in.
