I have a 420a with 50k on it. I just noticed that there is oil sitting on the valve cover where the spark plug wires go. There is about 2 table spoons of oil. I know its not the oil cap because I checked the gasket ring and it is fine and I dont see any spillage around the oil cap. My car doesn't act abnormal -drives just as always. I don't have any smoke at start up or anything. However, I did check the level of the oil and it is way over the Maximum about 1/6 of an inch maybe a little more. Does too much oil cause oil to seep out of the spark plugs? What else could th is oil be from?

^^^ what this gentleman suggested, also might want to check the hose on the PCV valve there. Mine has some cracking (I need to replace it, it's on my to do list), so it's seeping just a bit of oil onto the top of the valve cover.

what they said.....but i doubt it, but it may be the valve cover gasket.....i dont see how it would get up there, but maybe.... did you spill any when you refilled it, it will stay there and you might of just of not noticed it

im pretty sure its his spark plug gaskets. at least on plug number 4. I went and we looked at them and the 4th plug was covered in tons of oil and a nice little puddle of oil on top of plug #4. not sure about #3, couldnt get the wire off.
