ive had this code shining bright and orange for about 8months now. ask around, alot of people consider the CEL to be an honor of sorts. It means you arent stock and proud to be a DSM owner. Get used to them...lol Welcome to 2GNT, btw.

Get a 1 Megaohm, 1/4 watt, 5% tolerance resistor at your local radio shack. Get to the rear o2 sensor, find the wire harness coming from it. Splice into the sheathing, and get the black wire. Cut it in half, and SOLDER the resistor inline. Tape it up real good, and that will take care of the CEL.

does it matter where you put the resistor? like how close to the rear o2 sensor? i know the rear o2 sensor goes into the car and is under the drivers seat, so can i just got the black wire under the seat and solder it around that area? this will work for which cel code(s) again? i might get a high flow cat soon so just in case. thanks Michael 99gs HRC Stage IV 8-Injector Setup 2GNT Member #32

question if you put this resistor inline with the black wire to clear the cel code will it mess with my fuel trims in any way? as far as my ltft? i plan to replace my stock cat with a 'stock' cat so my cel might come on.. also for this resistor mod, what cel code relates to it? just one or two codes? thanks guys... It shouldn't mess with your fuel trims since the downstream O2 sensor (one after the cat) is only used the determine if your catalytic converter is working efficiently or not. The upstream O2 sensor (on the downpipe) however determines if the car is running lean or rich and fuel trims are adjusted based on what it reads.
