after replacing the timing belt/waterpump/headgasket everything waas torqued to spec, and i took it for a drive thismorning and after 5 mins of driving, car loses all power and shuts off. pop the good, the timing belt traveled towards the valvecover, and frayed itself but did not skip a tooth. also the intake cam gear was knocked loose, and crooked. after removing the valvecover, almost every rocker was knocked off. my day cant get any worse, how could this have happened?! please i need help. chris

I think maybe that your gear may have come loose and your valves may have contacted the pistons, but that is just a guess. I would imagine that could happen.
is it possible that the gear just happened to be at the correct spot when you popped the hood (it had slipped for one full turn)?

well i dont know what happend...but you could always buy a good head off of me.... ive got one that was freshly rebuilt about 10k miles ago....good valves, springs, retainers, cams, rockers....its all there...let me know if youre interested...be a hell of a lot cheaper then rebuilding yours, and you'll have a spare to mess with
14b custom turbo kit, modified starion front mount, 9.6:1 JE pistons/Eagle rods....running 12psi screw flanders

Ouch, sorry to hear. The rockers were knocked off? Did the cam towers come loose. I don't see how the rockers cam loose if the cam is still in there solid. As for the timing belt getting frayed I could wager that something was out of alignment causing it to walk. It could be possibly the intake cam sprocket. If it came loose then when it did the timing belt started walking.

Check to see that both camshafts have their dowell pins intact. Turn the crank by hand with the valve cover off. Make sure that both camshafts turn. If they don't, then you have a bunch of busted stuff.

it can be rebuilt, stronger, faster, more powerful
if its screwed, raceport, cams, stainless oversized valves, crower springs/titanium retainers, cam gears should do the trick, downtime isnt that bad, just gives me more time to think of what can make her better chris
